About Department
The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Department at Viswam Engineering
College, Madanapalle, established in the academic year 2024–25, offers a two-year full-time
postgraduate program designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in
computer applications, artificial intelligence, data science, and emerging technologies. the
department focuses on academic excellence, research, and industry-oriented learning,
supported by highly qualified faculty, state-of-the-art laboratories, a digital library, and Wi-
Fi-enabled infrastructure. Accredited with an A grade by NAAC, approved by AICTE, and
affiliated to JNTUA, Anantapur, the institution ensures quality education combined with
practical exposure through workshops, webinars and industry collaborations. The department
also emphasizes student development through technical clubs, research initiatives and
placement training, preparing graduates to meet the dynamic demands of the IT industry and
contribute to innovation in next-generation computing.

Department Head Profile
Dr. S. Usharani holds M.Sc., M.Phil., MCA., Dip. (Yoga)., Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and has over 18 years of teaching and research experience. Her areas of expertise include Data Mining, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, IoT, and Java.
She has published multiple research papers in reputed journals, participated in numerous national and international conferences and completed several SWAYAM-NPTEL courses in emerging technologies. She has also served as a reviewer for IEEE and Springer
conferences and authored a book titled & Statistical Testing Through Cleanroom Software Engineering and “Foundation for Artificial Intelligence”. Dedicated to academic excellence, research innovation and student development. She currently leads the MCA department, guiding initiatives in AI, Data Science and Industry-Oriented Learning.
